Hulu Sungai Tengah Government Further Commitment to Reducing Single Use Plastic


MUDFISH NO PLASTIC Team with The Government of Hulu Sungai Tengah

As part of the follow-up of the two-year project planned by The Government of Hulu Sungai Tengah located in South Kalimantan. A step to further commit to reducing single-use plastic in governmental areas officially made by the government. The commitment to reduce single-use plastic was made by providing a water reservoir and reusable tumblers to meet the needs of employees at the Hulu Sungai Tengah Regent's Office. The launching was held on Monday, October 3rd, 2022 led by Mr. H. Aulia Oktafiandi the current regent of Hulu Sungai Tengah, along with Forum Komunikasi Pimpinan Daerah (Regional Leadership Communication Forum) with guests who have goals about reducing plastic waste, like Olympic champion athlete Anna Bogdanova from Russia.


The initiation was surrounded with optimism and a message about believing in prevention and taking action among the officials to make this plan work. The government expressed the desire to keep on making innovations in regard to environmental issues and using prevention as the solution for handling plastic trash. It was also announced on that day that the government is committing to add more of the MUDFISH NO PLASTIC educational program to the curriculum of elementary and junior high school students, providing access to more students the awareness of reducing single-use plastic resulting in generations that are more in touch with the their environment. The government also aims to add more water-filling stations in schools, offices, and any other governmental agency that needs it.


Once again the Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency is leading the way in increasing awareness of the problem of plastic pollution and taking concrete steps to end the use of single-use plastic.
